I had a pair of Ruby-red Wing Atomic number 26 Rangers. I prefer the wait of the IR's merely not by much. These are actually nice. I'll compare the two since I bet many of you are looking to make the decision of which to become. First off, I am in between a 7.five and eight in Red Wings. viii's are a little too big, and seven.5'southward are a petty tight. The IR's I have are 7.five's. I got an 8 in the Chippewa Homesteads. Fit: The IR's were actually narrow, tight in the toe box. They did mold effectually my feet pretty well. The large outcome for me was the toe cap was basically where my anxiety "folded" when I walked and they cut into my anxiety. The Chippewas toe cap is much smaller and just covers my toes. Not even close to the pes fold when I walk. They are as well a scrap wider than the IR's. (Win: Chippewa) Color/Look: I got the Crazy Horse and they aren't the dainty deep brown that you see in the motion picture. Almost more of a greyish/chocolate-brown. High Quality leather tin can take variations though. The IR's color is second to none. (Win: Red Wings) Soles: Neither have very good insoles at all. If you lot demand the support/comfort, then I would get a half size larger than you lot would if you didn't utilize the insoles. I actually adopt not having insoles. The IR outsoles are TERRIBLE. 100% apartment. I live in MPLS and the ice/snow is brutal with the RWs. The Chippewas accept a dainty Vibram outsole and actually have some tread to them. (Win: Chippewa) Cost: Blood-red Wing Fe Rangers are more than the Chippewas (Win: Chippewa) Overall, I'm going to sell my Cherry-red Wings. I love these Chippewas so far. My other RW's have lasted years, and this is my first pair of Chippewas. If these last equally I expect they volition, I'll no incertitude be getting more in the time to come.

These are fantastic boots. Extremely well crafted, and long lasting. Quality is far beyond what I was expecting for an entry level priced kicking.

Beautifully crafted boot. Photos don't do the leather justice. I came from the Reddish Wing Atomic number 26 Ranger to this, and I prefer the look, fit, and finish of the Chippewa more. These boots expect amazing dressed down with worn-in denim, or dressed up with slim chinos. Another benefit over the IR is the sole - the Rangers had a smooth sole, which is terrifying on ice or snow, making them useless. I suspect I'll be wearing this boot year-round. Can't say enough good things about information technology.

The Homestead Kick is my tertiary pair of Chippewa Service Manner kick. I wanted to try something a bit dissimilar (my other Service boots are the Black Odessa and the archetype Cordovan boot). I wanted to take a boot with a cap toe blueprint, and I am so pleased to say that these boots are not only fantastic and complement my other two pairs, just they already have received countless comments about how classy they wait! A few comments almost Chippewa's boots and then this kick in particular. Their Service style kicking is made to terminal - great leather, a solid Goodyear Welt, perfect stitching and solid soles. The break in period is side by side to null and I have institute that I tin can article of clothing a new pair of boots all day long on the very first day. You can make these boots look similar new in 5 minutes if you employ quality shoe care production. The Homestead boot is a two-tone boot. The toe is near a cordovan color, rich and consistent and makes the shoe pop. The remainder of the leather is a medium brown. The pair I received is almost identical to the picture. I find Chippewa boots (Service and Homestyle) run true to size. I likewise have RedWing Beckman's and Wolverine 1000 milers - I find those products (which are excellent) run at least one-half size large (the Wolverines may run a total size big). However, I am size xi½ and the Chippewa's are a true fit. You lot cannot go wrong with these boots. Buy a pair. Or 3 pair similar I did. There is non a lot of arch support; but I always use a quality insert like Superfeet to provide support and comfort. You should take this into consideration when y'all decide on your size.

I'd too recommend:

RedWing Heritage, Wolverine 1000 Mile

These have a very stiff footbed. They will take some time to break in. They are fabricated from heavy duty leather. They are congenital in the true Chippewa tradition work kicking with a scrap more than way.

This Homestead Boot is fantastic. I originally chose the Cherry-red Fly Iron Rangers due to their popularity and reputation, only I found the width to be terribly narrow--my pes is anything but wide. The IRs are offered in a 2E width, simply I opted to take a shot at the Chippewas and I'm glad I did! These are exactly what I wanted: mitt crafted, made in U.s.a., classic, timeless, resole/heel-able. If this silhouette and description is what yous are looking for in a boot you will be well served past these.

I have these boots in the Crazy Horse leather and the picture show is pretty shut to what they await like in terms of color. I would say that they can vary some; I saw three different pairs to try sizes and each was a piffling different, merely that is to exist expected. Sizing is larger than normal. I probably average a 9½, but sometimes a 9 or 10 and I am wearing an 8½ in these. I detect them very comfy. Maybe they will not piece of work and so bully if you need lots of arch support or a soft cushioned insole. I was a fleck worried at showtime since the not-removable insole is very hard. But after wearing them a bit, they seem to take totally conformed to my feet. This is good news since there is non plenty volume for the very thin Superfeet insoles I tried. If need insoles, be sure to size upwardly. After a short break in, I practise not think that I demand any. Last thing is I exercise not find them that warm. That is good for me in the desert. Overall these are cracking boots. They look awesome and I have had no issues and so far.

Admittedly crawly. Favorite boots I own. They broke in in a day and a half. Comfortable, sturdy, and non likewise beefy at all. My only qualm was that the color doesn't actually look like the photo online. It was a bit lighter and softer looking, just later a couple months of wearing in, parts of the leather are concealment and getting that shine. I actually like information technology more than what I idea they'd be like. I use them to ride my motorcycle. My toes experience safe and I love the look with my archetype bike. I'd purchase them again.

I had trouble deciding between these boots and the Redwing Iron Rangers, ultimately deciding on these. The "American-made" tag was besides a selling point. I highly recommend these shoes. They're durable, nice-looking, well-fabricated, and extremely comfortable correct out of the box. (Probably the most comfortable boots I've ever owned.)

These are awesome boots with a classic Americana look and superb quality. This is the second pair I've owned. The start lasted the better role of a decade. I have a "low-book" human foot and they fit me well. The Crazy Horse color is prissy, just I returned these simply due to a color preference. My erstwhile ones were Crazy Horse which is sort of a nighttime brown/grayness color. I wanted to try something in a tan chocolate-brown.

Solid, stout boot. Leather is unyieldingly thick at beginning but breaks in nicely. The only disappointment, honestly, is the Vibram soles - both heels seem like they're already pulling loose. Will wait to see what happens with extended vesture.

I have to review these boots. This is my second pair. My commencement pair, which is however serviceable subsequently well-nigh two years, is in blackness. I must tell yous that the quality command from Chippewa is quite poor. The reason I say this is because the new pair, although exactly the same size, the brown ones fit every bit though my feet are swollen. At that place is a huge width gap in the lacing. I therefore will have to rate them overall as poor.

I was not impressed with this shoe by Chippewa for the cost. Leather felt worse than the other Chippewa'southward I own at half the cost. As far as style goes I went with the Red Fly Iron Rangers and am extremely happy in that conclusion.
